About This Place

Nestled in the charming heart of Parque Santa Lucia in Mérida, La Recova Santa Lucia offers an exquisite dining experience that effortlessly marries diverse flavors with a warm, inviting atmosphere. This restaurant impresses visitors with its varied menu that spans traditional Mexican favorites and international cuisine, catered to satisfy a broad range of palates.

Food lovers will find themselves enticed by standout dishes like the Pulpo a la Brasa—grilled octopus tender and smoky, though with some debate on its execution—as well as the richly comforting Sopa de Lima, a classic Yucatecan lime soup bursting with bright, citrus aromas and zesty undertones. The menu continues to delight with options such as the succulent Osobuco, hearty Beef Steak, and the creamy, indulgent Carbonara Pasta with Chicken Strips. For seafood aficionados, the Carpaccio de Pulpo rivals many coastal offerings, while the Lasagna and Raviolis bring a touch of Italy to this Mexican gem. Don't overlook the Bife de Chorizo or the house-special Hamburguesa de la Casa, both deeply satisfying and flavorful.

The drinks menu complements the cuisine with refreshing choices such as the vibrant Clericot, a fruity white wine cocktail perfect for Mérida’s warm evenings, the bold Mezcal Cocktail for a smoky kick, and the sweet and tart homemade Limonada de Fresa. Together, these drinks elevate the dining experience, inviting relaxed conversations and leisurely enjoyment.

La Recova Santa Lucia shines not only through its food but also with its thoughtfully curated ambiance. Situated amidst the lively Parque Santa Lucia, the restaurant benefits from generous outdoor seating, allowing guests to soak in the historic neighborhood’s atmosphere while comfortably dining. Many diners have noted the perfect blend of romance and relaxation, making it an ideal setting for everything from casual outings to intimate dinners. The friendly and attentive staff consistently elevate the experience, with mentions of standout service by team members such as Armando and Karla adding a personal touch to visits.

While the restaurant leans toward a higher price point compared to typical Mérida establishments, many patrons find the portion sizes generous and the quality of ingredients justifies the investment. That said, some mixed reviews on specific dishes and billing transparency invite a thoughtful approach—be sure to savor the favorites and keep an eye on your check for smooth closure to an otherwise delightful meal.

La Recova Santa Lucia is a culinary destination that embraces Mérida’s vibrant culture and diverse palate with confidence. Whether you’re craving tender pork ribs glazed in rich BBQ sauce, succulent lobster fettucine, or a refreshing salad as a vegetarian option, this restaurant satisfies with variety and heart. A lovely restaurant with lots of outdoor seating in Parque Santa Lucia. The cocktails were decent and the food was fairly good. The food portions were in larger than average. For vegetarians: They had salads, empanadas and Ravioli for meal options Overall, the restaurant was a tad pricey for Mérida or the quality of the food

What an amazing experience, food was extraordinary! Highly recommend the Fetuccini with lobster dish. My wife also had the Cosillar Pork with Mezcal sauce dish and it was worth every bite. Excellent service from Armando and Karla. If you're looking for a romantic and relax setting.... THIS IS IT.

We came to St. Lucia parking looking for a nice dinner and some live entertainment at the park. There was no entertainment but e we still decided to stop at La Recova. The pork ribs were delicious, super tender with great bbq sauce. The octopus was disappointing, we couldn’t even finish it. The sauce left a lot to be desired and it wasn’t cooked long enough. Tragic given that it’s probably the most expensive seafood dish on the menu. The guacamole was well seasoned and the chips were fresh. The drinks were phenomenal. I’d def go back just for those and the ribs tho they were a bit pricey. About $225 pesos per drink. When we looked at the bill we had spent just as much on drinks as we did on food. We ordered 5 drinks. Oh and the beef empanadas were scrumptious.

Excellent food and service but when I got the bill, it didn't add up. They had added the tip, but then drew a box around the total covering up where they had added the tip. Seemed shady. Glad I always add up the bill to ensure it's right. Actually shorted themselves because I would've given 20% and they had only added 15%

Went here the other night. The place was not busy and I got a table outside right away. The ambiance at night was peaceful with a nice chill view. The waitress was attentive and kind. I ordered the Osobuco and Chaya drink. Before my food arrived bread and sauces came to the table. I tried them all and they were great especially the oil. Not long after my main dish came (Osobuco) along with tortilla's.The meat was fall off the bone good and would recommend this dish. At the end of the night if you want a nice meal chill vibe with above average price tag then give this place a try

Very nice meal. Well curated menu, sublime service, and a lovely outdoor atmosphere. Desserts were particularly nice. The only thing we didn't like were the number of street vendors that kept coming through the diners trying to sell us trinkets and fans.
